FUNDING:
The Course will, from September 2011, be funded by the Skills Funding Agency wth co-operation from Hilderstone Adult Further Education Centre, Broadstairs.
Students will be funded for each ISTD qualification they wish to study.
We do ask for a contribution of £100.00 per term per student to cover the payment of the pianists and other small sundry costs which will be paid at the beginning of each term.
Students will of course still have to be responsible for their examination fees.
We will also have use of the Sarah Thorne Theatre and all the Hilderstone facilities.
STUDENT DIRECTION:
Sitting about in the common room using the course facilities, as a social club will not be allowed. We appreciate that the family atmosphere and friendships that you find here are unique but they can be a barrier to learning and interfering with the focus of other students. If you are here you will be in class or watching if indisposed.
Please be on time, do not waste time chattering in the cloakroom before class, it is your money that you will be wasting.
Absentees must phone in before 8.30am if you are not coming in. Your funding is not returnable therefore you will loose your class payment. This course has to run on similar lines to any other private school.
We are not going to give up on the issue of funding and will continue to seek ways in which this might be found. It is your right to be allowed the opportunity for further study in your chosen profession, as are those of others.
